There’s never been a better time in History to have your own home-based business.
I read a study yesterday suggesting that more than half of the U.S. Workforce will be earning the majority of their income from home by the year 2020.
If that statement is valid and, I believe it to be, then; if you couple that with the Conservatives gaining power in D.C. which will mean higher taxes for ordinary citizens and fewer benefits, people will have no other choice but try to make ends meet by earning extra income with their own businesses.
My Wife has worked from home, doing her own thing for years now. She’s turned her love of design into a thriving Custom Jewelry Business. And, we have several friends and acquaintances that are employed by conventional businesses but are allowed to work out of their homes.
Others do mlm or some type of networking. Some do medical billing or run a small call center from their home. One friend, washes windows. He works out of his house and before you put him down for being a mere window washer, he’s taking home a healthy 5 figure income each month and only works 12 days per month.
The point is, we can buy everything we need to run a great business from home while appearing totally professional. Laptops are cheap. You can get an 800# for less than $10 per month. A web-based Fax Service is cheap too. Instead of printing business cards, get a VCard and just digitize you business info and give it out to clients. We all have cell phones…right? (here’s my VCard)
One key to having some success working from home is, do you love what you’ve chosen to do? Do you have a hobby that would convert to a business. One friend makes bird houses during the week in his garage then sells them at a local flea market on the weekend. He’s on Social Security and the extra $200 to $300 he earns on weekends comes in handy.
Many do mlm. My problem with that is I have a hard time telling people they’re overweight so I struggle if I’m trying to sell pills or diet drinks. Many have the same problem. That’s why I sell Services. My Company is a networking company but we don’t deal in pills or potions/lotions, etc…
I like tangible items so that’s what I do. It works for me. That’s what you should be considering if you’re thinking about starting up some program to supplement your earnings. By the way, here are the two companys I focuse on. ZLicense & My Strategy Club
The World is changing. Businesses are moving overseas. Technology is replacing human employees. We can no longer rely on a comfortable, 40 year career and a healthy retirement. Those days are leaving us and, if we’re to have any chance of a worthwhile, productive lifestyle; it’s up to us to go out and make it happen.
All the best,
